If you have items for sale, and wish to advertise them via the club, please compile a list and submit it to the News Letter Secretary for inclusion in the next club news letter, or to advertise items for sale at the circuit submit your list to Race control and it will be posted in Window at Race Control. We have a long standing "No Sales" policy on the website, so we'd appreciate the forum not being used for this purpose. Many Thanks.

Round 9 Race results

Here are the results for Round 9 full details will be posted shortly

1/8: 1st Rob McKennah = 100 points

2nd Angelo Bruscino = 99 points

3rd Mike Manning = 99 points (TQ 1 point, 3rd 98 points)

John Boddey and Nick Pope DNS = No points

1/5: Dave Leach 101 points (TQ and 1st)

1/10: Peter Reade = 101 points (TQ and 1st)

Jason Mogg = 99 points (no real class for his yet!)

Round 10, Sunday 5th October

There appears to be a bit of confusion regarding the date for Club Round 10 of the Summer Season. We'd like to confirm that this will be held on Sunday 5th October, (as it says on the calender).

MMMRC Welcomes All Electric Drivers

Following the completion of some track modifications Mendip Model Motor Racing Club would like to welcome all Electric drivers. The change to the track layout allows the uses of a short circuit which is more appropriate for Electric cars.

We look forward to holding electric heats at future race meetings

MMMRC Open Day Update

Despite the weather, the Open Day has been a sucess with ten new members joining the club, and we'd like to take this opportunity to give them a big welcome.

Although the day's event didn't go quite as planned there was a fair amount of activity in the pit area displaying the range of cars (and bikes) available, with demonstrations on the track as the weather permited, ending up on a "race" of sorts under floodlights. (see photos from the event)

Big thanks to all who made this event possible.

MMMRC Open Day

Well the weather for the open day might not have been as in the photo, but we did enrole a few new members and a great deal of interest was shown by the visitors we did have.

MMMRC Open Day 9th August Update

The Progamme for the Day

Entry is FREE for the day, visitors only pay for track time at £2 for the day
All children have to be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Racing

11am till 4pm
Demos of each class by members
( Racing for visitors to be split into 1/2hr sessions for each class)

There will be a safety briefings by liaisons for each class

1/8th scaleRob & Kev

1/5th scale Henryk & Neale

BBQ

5pm.

Open to all (cost as price list on the day)

Live music by GREENBACK

6-6.45 pm & 7-7.45 pm

Smooth Jazz, with a Funky Groove

Night Racing by floodlights.

8.30pm -10.00pm

Then off to bed to get ready for club meeting the next day.

Camping that night at mendip is FREE courtesy of Colin so get out your tents etc so you don't have to go home.

The Day's events will comprise of, Race Demos, Have a go sessions, and Novelty events, with a BBQ in the evening with live music, finishing off with a floodlit "Night" race.

4th Round of the BRCA 1/8 scale National at Mendip

51 drivers from all areas of the country converged on Mendip last weekend ( 14th and 15th June) to contest the 4^th Round of the BRCA 1/8 scale Nitro engine Radio controlled motor racing championship last. With free practice on the Saturday and 4 rounds of qualifying plus the 5 finals on Sunday.

The event won overall by top seed Mark Green with his Serpent 960 08.

Mendip Model Motor Racing Club members results as follows:

3^rdB Final Ashley Gouveia – Serpent 960 08,

4^th B final: Iain Milford – Mugen MRX4,

1^st C Final: Mike Manning – Serpent 960 08,

Due to bad weather, round 4 of the club championship has been moved to replace round 1 of the winter series (19^th October 08).

1/5th Scale Off Road Event Cancelled

The 1/5th Scale Off Road event scheduled for the 7th and 8th of June has been cancelled. We'll post any further detail as they are received

Work party Weekend 31st may - 1st June

Just a reminder that we have a work party weekend coming on the 31st may - 1st June. There probably no major work to be done but there are lots of little jobs that need doing to maintain the site in the condition that we all like to see it. So even iy ou can only make an hour or so, please make the effort to come and help. the more hands we have the easier it is and the quicker it'll get done and it becomes a fun social event rather than just a chore. You help is be greatly appreciated.

Summer Series 2008 Round 2

There is now a new "Club Members" section to the Form.

This is to provide for discussion of club related topics.

Round 7 Date Change

Round 7 has changed from the 3rd August to the 10th August.

Following a club committee meeting last night where the calendar dates were reviewed in detail, the dates remain as published with the exception of Club Round 7 which is now on the 10th August.

Round 5 Winter series 2007/08

After missing the previous rounds due to the weather, Round 5 of the Winter Series was run on a fine and sunny winters day, all be it very cold. The track was dry and producing a reasonable amount of grip, it was good to be back out there racing.

1st Cheddar Scouts Achieve "Model Makers" badge

Members of the 1st Cheddar Scout group were awarded their "Model Makers" achievement badge at their meeting yesterday evening. The scouts brought their completed models to the meeting for inspection. The range of models produced was quite extensive and to a high standard. There was then a short talk on model motor car racing and the scouts showed their skills at controlling a radio controlled car around a make-shift track in their hall. At their final parade the scouts were presented with their "Model Makers" achievement badge.
